Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Premier Vision the leading provider of vision care products and services in Amarillo.


John Todd Cornett, OD, PA

Dr. Cornett finds great satisfaction in getting to know his patients and in helping them see the world more comfortably and clearly.   He is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry and the Texas Optometry Board recognizes him as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.  Dr. Cornett frequently participates in clinical research which allows him to evaluate emerging advancements in contact lenses years before they reach the marketplace.  Also, he is passionate about relieving the suffering caused by the disease of dry eye and frequently helps train doctors in how to properly bring relief to patients with that disease.

Dr. Cornett is married and they have three wonderful children.  He is active in leadership at Central Church of Christ and serves on the Board of Trustees of Great Cities Missions.  He served for many years as a trustee and president of the Bushland Independent School District’s Board of Trustees.  On a statewide level, the Texas Optometric Association honored him as the Young Optometrist of the Year in the 2002.  He also served the TOA on its Board of Directors which culminated with his service as President of that organization in 2005.  He has received national recognition for his contributions to advancements in patient care.  He currently serves Vision Source, the nation’s largest network of independent optometrists, as a regional administrator to help bring innovation to members and improve patient care.


J. Craig Gladman, OD, PA

Dr. Gladman returned to Amarillo to practice after completing  his training at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1988. Prior to beginning his optometric training he spent ten years as a private operating room nurse for an Amarillo surgeon.

In conjunction with his optometric training Dr. Gladman served an externship in diseases and surgery of the retina with an emphasis on diabetic retinopathy as well as working in advanced cornea research and outcomes and was the proud recipient of numerous academic and clinical excellence awards.

Dr. Gladman holds the highest level of licensure to practice optometry granted by the Texas Optometry Board and is board certified by the American Board of Optometry. Professional memberships include The American Optometric Association, the Orthokeratology Academy of America and since his first year of eligibility he has been recognized as a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. Additionally, with his passion for education, Dr. Gladman is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry, lecturing in ocular disease.

Presently, Dr. Gladman enjoys the ever-present challenges of practicing at the highest level with an emphasis on diagnostic technology, noninvasive corneal refractive procedures and contact lenses including medically necessary scleral lenses.

In his leisure time, Dr. Gladman pursues his passion for golf, travel, gourmet cooking and music. Active in the fine arts community, Dr. Gladman serves on the board of trustees for Amarillo Opera and Amarillo Master Chorale where he is an active performer.

He and his wife, a retired registered nurse , are the proud parents of two successful sons and are further blessed with wondrous grandchildren. A long time member of his local church he serves a dual role in leadership locally and is a member of the board of trustees for Great Cities Missions, a para-church training and support organization for Christian missionaries in South America.

Leslie Sciumbato, OD,PA

Dr Sciumbato joined Premier Vision after graduating from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2008.  She is a native of Amarillo and is enjoying her hometown.  She is a proud graduate of West Texas A&M University.

While at the University of Houston, she distinguished herself with several honors and awards.  She holds membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society and received several letters of clinical excellence.

Dr Sciumbato’s passion for optometry began at the age of five when she had her first eye examination.  Her favorite aspects of practicing at Premier Vision are the ever-advancing technology and the ability to form personal relationships with her patients.

She holds the highest level of licensure to practice optometry granted by the Texas Optometry Board.  She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association and the Panhandle Optometric Society.

Dr Sciumbato plays a significant role in staffing and operating the Center for Dry Eye Relief at Premier Vision in Amarillo.

She and her husband enjoy traveling and snow skiing and their two dogs, Moxie and Mille.


Dr. Stuart Berry

A native of Amarillo, Dr. Stuart completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry in 1998. After working four years in the Memphis, Tennessee and Dallas / Ft. Worth areas, he returned home to Amarillo to open his own practice with his wife, Dr. Joy Berry.

He holds the highest level of licensure to practice optometry granted by the Texas Optometry Board. Professional memberships include The Texas Optometric Association and The American Optometric Association.

Dr. Berry is focused on listening to his patients and helping them get their questions answered and problems with their vision resolved. He believes that a thorough eye exam is a valuable gateway to a comprehensive health evaluation.

An avid Longhorn fan, Dr. Berry received his Undergraduate Degree from the University of Texas. He has served on the Board of Directors for Goodwill and is a member of Hillside Christian He also enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, and skiing with their two daughters.


Dr. Kayci Houlette

Dr. Kayci Houlette is a Therapeutic Optometrist in Amarillo, Texas. She grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors from both Texas A&M University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, and the University of Houston College of Optometry for her Doctorate.

Dr. Houlette’s clinical rotations and training specialized in: Dry Eye Disease, Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Keratoconus (and specialty scleral lens fitting), and Myopia Management.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.

Dr. Houlette is passionate about providing exceptional eye care to her patients. What most excites her about Optometry is the ability to positively impact the lives of her patients.

In her leisure time, Dr. Houlette appreciates spending time with her husband, supporting the Soddies, running, reading, and weaving tapestries.


Dr. Amy Cruth

Dr. Amy Cruth recently joined the elite staff at Premier Vision after working in private practice in Lubbock for 17 years.

She obtained her optometric license in 2001 after graduating from the University of Missouri – St. Louis School of Optometry.  In 2002, she moved to Lubbock and has practiced at the highest level of licensure granted by the Texas Optometry Board.  She is a member of the TOA and AOA.

Dr. Cruth is a therapeutic optometrist who specializes in diagnosis & treatment of ocular diseases, specialized contact lens fittings (keratoconus, post-corneal transplants) and routine vision exams.
She and her husband, along with their two children reside in Canyon and are excited to be a part of the community.  She is accepting new patients and is excited to help you achieve your best vision
